Jimmy Donaldson — known universally as MrBeast — is the most successful YouTube creator in history. With over 300 million subscribers and an annual revenue estimated at $700 million across his media empire, he operates at a scale that makes most traditional media companies look small. Now he wants a bigger slice of the British market.

The London Studio

MrBeast has signed a long-term lease on a 15,000 square foot production facility in London's Bermondsey, which will serve as the base for a dedicated UK content team. The studio — equipped with the same production infrastructure as MrBeast's US facilities — will produce content specifically tailored to British audiences, featuring UK contestants, UK settings, and British cultural references.

"The UK is one of our strongest markets and we've always felt we've underserved it," said a senior member of the MrBeast team. "Having a physical presence here allows us to really understand the audience and make content that feels genuinely British rather than just translated American content."

The Commercial Logic

Britain is the world's third-largest YouTube advertising market by revenue, and the cultural affinity between British and American entertainment means that US creators have historically performed strongly with UK audiences. But the data suggests that truly locally produced content consistently outperforms adapted American content in audience retention and engagement.

MrBeast's UK expansion also positions him strategically in the competition for British brand partnership revenue — a market that has grown significantly as UK advertisers have shifted budgets from traditional television to digital platforms.
